Young Taro Leaves called Dolzik in Hmar is usually cooked traditionally with fermented fish as Ngathu Chialhme. Both the leaves and the stem can be prepared as a dish.

To clean, one has to break the stem with one’s finger and then peel the skin off.

As it causes irritating sensation to the throat when eaten, it is best to boil it first and dispose off the water.
