How to make a spring onion chutney with roasted dried red chilli flakes and fermented pork!


  1. Spring Onion (Purunsen Hna in Hmar).
  2. Roasted Dried Red Chilli Flakes (Hmarchahmui in Hmar).
  3. Fermented Pork (Sathu in Hmar).
  4. Baking Soda
  5. Warm Water
  6. Salt


  1. In a bowl, take out 3-4 spoons of Roasted Dried Chilli Flakes.
  2. Add a spoon of Fermented Pork.
  3. Add 1/4 spoon of Baking Soda.
  4. Mix it properly for a minute with a spoon or mortar pastel.
  5. Add small amount of warm water.
  6. Stir it for a minute to make a foam.
  7. Wash Spring Onion and chop the bulbs into halves, cut the leaves about one inches.
  8. Add it to the chutney.
  9. Add salt to taste.
  10. Mix it well.
